What is a tack down?

When our team reviews your embroidery order, they might reach out to you to recommend what we call a 'tack down'.

A tack down is just a way for us to keep your thin lines straight and crisp on a thicker or textured fabric, like a rib-knit beanie cuff! The tack down helps stabilize the fabric so that your design is also unobscured by the texture of the knit. We use a tonal thread for the tack down to match the base beanie color so it is not very noticeable against the fabric.
