Minimum and Maximum Embroidery Sizes

Minimum and Maximum Embroidery Sizes

The maximum possible print sizes for embroidery are highly variable, and are limited by stitch counts, seams, pockets, linings, variations in the manufacture of the garment, garment size, the detail of your design, etc. However, some general guidelines can be found below:

CAPS

The closest to the bottom that we can embroider on hats is 0.625" away from the bottom.

  • Front of Cap: 5.5" x 2.25"
  • Side of Cap: 2.75” x 2.25"
  • Back (Adjustable): 2.75” x 1.75" (no closer than 0.5" to the arc opening)
  • Back (Fitted): 2.75" x 1.75"

KNITS

The closest to the edge of the cap or the cuff that we can embroider is .375" away from the nearest edge.

  • Beanie Cuff: 4.25” x 2.50"
  • Skull Cap: 4.25” x 2.50"

TOPS

The closest to the collar or the seam that we can get depends on the size of the garment and the placement of the print.

  • Left/Right Chest: 4.25" x 4.25" (2" away from collar / 0.5" away from any pockets)
  • Small Embroidery, Centered: 4.25" x 4.25" (2" away from front collar / 2.5" away from back collar)
  • Medium Embroidery, Centered: 8.62" x 8.62" (2.5" away from front collar / 5" away from back collar)
  • Large Embroidery, Centered: 14.75" x 11.75" (2.5" away from front collar / 5" away from back collar)
  • Neck (very close to collar), Centered: 2.75"x 1.75" (0.5" away from collar)

ONESIES

For baby onesies and tees, we are very limited on what can be embroidered with consistent outcomes.

  • Center chest: 3" x 3" ( 2.25"-2.5" down from collar)

SLEEVES

The closest to the seam is possible is 0.5" away. The closest to the cuff that is possible is 1" away.

  • Short Sleeve: 3.00" x 3.00" (placement between elbow and shoulder)
  • Upper Long Sleeve: 3.25" x 12.00"
  • Sleeve Cuff: 2.75" x 1.75"

BOTTOMS

All bottoms must be embroidered below any pockets.

  • Leg (for placement from calf to hip): 3.00" x 3.00"
  • Leg (for placement from knee to hip ONLY): 4.25" x 4.25"
  • Leg (for thigh placement ONLY): 3.25" x 12.00"

BAGS

The high variability in pocket size and placement and embroidery access means that we review bag and backpack designs on a case by base basis for suitability and we cannot guarantee a placement or design is possible until we can test it against our equipment.
